The German winger Leroy Sane has finalised his move to the Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich. The former Manchester City has long been linked with a move to the Bundesliga champions and the transfer has now been confirmed by the club.
The £54.8m move by Leroy Sane from Manchester City to Bayern Munich has been confirmed, the lucrative contract runs until 2025.
Lorey Sane would likely earn double the wages he received at City, with Bayern offering him an eyewatering £350,000 a week.
The 24-year-old Sane almost joined the Bayern Munich last summer before a serious knee injury ruled him out for 10 months.
Having missed practically the whole of Premier League 2019-20 campaign for City, Sane will now return to Bayern in a deal which both clubs appear satisfied with, especially given his contract was due to expire at the end of next season.
When asked about the player ahead of City’s game against Liverpool on Thursday, manager Pep Guardiola wished Sane well, and admitted he was sad to see him go.
“It looks like he is going to go to Munich,” Guardiola said. “I wish him all the best. I give him a big thanks for our years together.
“I would have liked him to stay here but he has decided to move on.”
It is believed Bayern will pay City £44.7m up front, with a series of performance and trophy-related add-ons included, meaning the deal could be worth up to almost £55m.
